Vtg Japanese Openwork Wood Folding Scented Hand Fan 9" Red Tassel Original Box
This lovely vintage fan belonged to my parents and was most likely obtained in Japan when they resided there in the 1950's.  It is made of 28 pieces of thin wood in a
beautiful
openwork pattern with some solid sections illustrated with bamboo, cherry blossoms and other plant / flower designs.  Two solid pieces of decorated wood make up the ends and it is held together with monofilament woven through the holes at the top and a grommet at the bottom.  It is an overall brown color, the line drawings are a darker reddish brown color and a bright red tassel is attached at the joint.  It measures about 9 inches long, 16 inches wide (opened), 1 3/16 inches wide (closed) and 7/8 inches deep.  It has a light floral scent.  The sturdy box flips open and the top says "High End Gift Fan" in Japanese lettering; there is a price tag in Japanese on one end.  It will be padded and shipped in its original box via USPS First Class Package.
