RARE Vintage Black African American Terri Lee Patty Jo Doll Bonnie Lou TLC

You are bidding on a Black Terri Lee doll. I believe this is Patty-Jo, designed by Jackie Ormes, because she has the pigtail hairstyle that characterized those dolls. Her hair is just in excellent condition. Her bangs have a nice curl and are held in place with a bobby pin. Her pigtails are still nicely braided. They have new rubber bands at the ends. She does have stray hairs and one piece that’s popping up on top, but this can probably be fixed.
She doesn’t have the thick eyebrows that seem to be on a lot of Patty-Jo dolls, but her face paint is also excellent and bright.
She’s wearing a tagged Terri Lee dress and a tagged slip, with red underwear and shoes and socks. Her dress has bunnies and carrots and her slip has 2 green bows on the front. The clothes are in very good shape, although there is a small tear on the back of the slip. The shoes have some wear and the right shoe is splitting in the front.
As you can see, she suffers from the plastic disease problem that many Terri Lee and other hard plastic dolls of this era deal with. There’s a white film that’s covering large portions of her body and limbs, and it extends to the inside of her body. There’s just a very small amount of it on her face and head, but I don’t know if it’s inside her head. This film also has that plastic disease smell that comes with it. Please keep this issue in mind before bidding.
Her stringing is pretty strong, but she could probably do with a re-stringing. It’s just a shame that her plastic has the problem it has, because she displays very well as she is. I know she’s an extremely rare doll and I’m hoping that she can get to somebody who can possibly do something about her plastic. Please see the pictures for exactly what you’ll receive.
