This is a NOS (new old stock) vintage IRC dirt bike knobby tire, size is 4.00-18. Great for your vintage motocross bike, or AHRMA racer.  Penton / Husqvarna / OSSA / Hodaka / KTM / Honda / Kawasaki / Yamaha / Suzuki / Sachs / BSA / Triumph / Norton / and many others.

It has been in an environmentally controlled warehouse for several years. Tire has been sitting on a shelf, a little dusty and dirty but no dry rotting or cracks. They are a flat from storage, but when inflated are fine.  Great for that restoration project bike. See pictures for details.

** Mounting Tips for installing NOS tires  **
We've had a few emails from buyers having difficulty mounting these tires due to being flat.  Step one...Use plenty of tire lube on the bead area.  Step two...we find its actually much easier to install BOTH bead halfs at the SAME time with NO TUBE installed.  Step three...once tire is completely on rim (both sides), then you can easily remove the top bead half back off the rim, and install your tube.  Step four....now you can install the top bead again (using plenty of lube), and inflate the tire as normal.  Step five....we have had good luck running the tire a little underinflated the first few rides to allow the tire to flex and take its correct shape back.
** About having a motorcycle shop or dealership mounting these NOS tires **
Most motorcycle shops don't want to mount these tires because they are new old stock tires, and they don't want the liability of installing an old stock tire on a customers bike, not to mention they'd prefer to sell you a tire....so they will tell you the tire is junk because it is old stock.   The tire is not junk...our shop regularly installs them no problem.  They are perfect for restorations, and vintage motocross owners looking for a period correct tire, as they are not made anymore.  Most guys that buy these tires install them themselves...see mounting tips above.  If you've ever installed a tire on a bicycle, its about the same.   The reason the tires are flat, is because the manufacturers store them in bundles...that is just how they did it back then.  Nowadays they don't usually bundle them, so most shops aren't used to seeing a flat tire.  I hope this helps explain about using these NOS tires.
